Quick FYI

Quick note to say I’m not updating for a couple days… On a 1st grade desert trip with the family.

It’s hard

This is hard. It’s frustrating. I can’t figure out the formula that works for me. I’m probably going to have to go with the points system with the way my family is - however - my mindset is not one that handles POINTS tracking at all. I’m frustrated.

Tuesday Weigh In

187

-1.8

OK - This is good!

I’ve really been struggling. I really have. You see, we have new routines at our house - so I’ve really stuggled with core vs flex, and what does and does not work for me.

I’ve been getting my water in, which is good, and taking my breakfast, lunch, and snack to work with me. Great! Problem? Poe, my husband. Poe - the man who does not have a weight problem, hates vegetables, and is now cooking dinner. You see, he gets off work at 3:30pm, so he’s been doing dinner for us and the kids, since I don’t get off til 6pm (and get home at 7pm.) He has no knowledge of good-for-you-cooking, nor does he really care. Since he’s the one doing the work, it’s really hard to toe that line of telling him what to do, yet knowing he’s a full fledged adult, you know?

This week, I’ve had core breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and then ate whatever he made, controlling my portions as best I can. I think this week, I’ll just tell him not to worry about me at all, I’ll make my own food when I get home. It’s hard though. No one wants to start cooking at 7 at night - when there’s housework, homework, baths, etc to get done. I think some preparation is going to have to be had on my part.

Please vote for me!

Copied from my other blog

Please? Pretty Please?

One blogging thing I’ve always wanted to do is have a problog - paid, and sponsored - for Disabled Parents. Parents of kids with disabilities. Someplace that’s more conversational than clinical. Someplace to find both deals on medical supplies AND how to deal with tactless nosy neighbor. Someplace to rant, and someplace to see what you should take to your IEP.

Help make that happen! Please vote for me at Blog for a Year! I know I have lots of great competition. And I know that I’m coming to it late in the day. But how cool would that be??? Really?

You can vote every day… So click to vote. Here’s the main page as well.

Oh - and you’re probably going to be shamelessly asked many more times in the future. Just humor me here, mmmkay?

Yesterday

I did really really great! I was only a half point over - which of course came out of my weekly bonus points.

I’m kind of proud of myself. I even had all my water.

I’m not really worrying much about anything else at this point. I do need to start being active - but I’m trying to take this little bites (ha!) at time.

But - so far so good, one day down.

To Quote…

It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else’s eyes.

Still working on it.

Day 1

I just went and weighed myself.

188.8

My goal? 130 naked.

Good Lord. That’s 58.8 pounds y’all. Ok. I want to be 187.8 by next Tuesday. That’s all I have to worry about.

I’ve been struggling with starts and stops now for a couple of months. End result? I’ve gained weight.

Gee. Isn’t that surprising?!!

So, I’m using the May Day Challenge to… I don’t know… Give me a little oomph.

I am definitely struggling with the core vs. non core. I think I’m going to have to go with non core and go back to flex. I’m also going to change my weigh in day on WW online to Tuesday.

Some plans I have for this site:
weight loss chart
before and after pics
progress pics
product reviews
reward list (stuff I want to give myself for staying on track)

Slowly but surely I want to make this part of my life - instead of something I need to overcome.

The plan? I use Weight Watchers Online, and I have PUSH - although I haven’t been doing it lately (another “I’m Gonna”). I also want to use the good health guidelines, as sort of a “must for my health” kind of thing.

I’m wishing you other May Day participants a great week!

Update:
OK - I switched back to flex, weighed in, and changed my tracking day to Tuesday.

On track

So far, so good. My only goals this week have been to complete a core breakfast, and drink my water. So far, so good, I have.

I’m planning more out, and planning my menus for groceries this weekend. I’ve joined up with Tales from the Scales for their May Day Challenge which starts next week.

You can check that out in the sidebar too.

My core breakfast, which I’m really liking, is oatmeal, fat free milk, and frozen blueberries, with one packet of splenda. Really tasty. I’m enjoying it. I’m using an organic instant oatmeal (and organic blueberries), and I’m really liking it a lot.

This week thus far

I decided that this week I’m just going to concentrate on eating core breakfasts, and trying to get all my water in. Slow little things. I think that’s the ticket.

Do you have a product you’d like me to review? A sample to send? A product to endorse? Perhaps you’re a mom with an at-home business? Perhaps you have a weight loss/fitness/health product you’re selling?

I’m happy to review your product. Email me at sparksfley at gmail dot com.

One thing however, I will not be restricted to a good review. I’ll review what I thought about your product, and that’s it, love it or hate it. If you’re fine with that - it’ll be a beautiful relationship.
